Our next meeting will be Thursday, April 24, 2008 @ the Lapeer City Hall, 2nd Floor City Commission
Chambers.
The meeting will begin at 7:00 pm (sharp) and will feature
a guest speaker, Ms. Mary Sue Weber, representing the Suncrest Medical Care Facility Auxiliary.
Ms. Weber will be speaking about the Suncrest millage proposal
which will be on the ballot at the August 5, 2008 Primary Election. Suncrest is the premier publicly-owned Medical Care
Facility in the State of Michigan and ranks in the top two or three medical care facilities in the state. The new millage
proposal is critical to making sure that Suncrest remains one of the best facilities in the state. Passing the new millage
proposal, which is significantly lower than the current millage, may be difficult given the economic times we find ourselves
in. The Democratic Party is committed to helping to pass this proposal.
Please attend and learn what you can do to help in this important effort.
